Honolulu - Waialae Beach Park map.
Waialae Beach Park is just outside of Waikiki going east, about 3-4 miles past Diamond Head at the end of the Kahala neighborhood.
If you or your guests are mobility challenged or we have rain, we can use the beach fronting the beach park.
If you're using a taxi or Uber, provide for your pick-up time and schedule 30 minutes (in the car) for travel from Waikiki to be there for our contract "Meet Time".
If you or your guests are driving on your own, the parking lot can fill up by 10 am or earlier and you'll need to wait or find street parking on Kahala Ave so, leave Waikiki earlier. We suggest leaving Waikiki 40-45 minutes and 45-60 minutes for afternoons to account for this.
We always recommend being dropped-off for this location irrespective of the time of your ceremony. Not finding parking is not an excuse for being late.
Get on Kalakaua Ave. and stay in the right lane closest to the sidewalk and ocean. Drive through Waikiki and stay in the right most lane. Drive through the tree-line boulevard of Kapiolani Park past the water fountain on the left near the end where and the road curves left.
Make a right turn at the stop sign onto Diamond Head Road heading east. This will take you past the Diamond Head lookouts. Stay on this main road and make no turns.
The road morphs into Kahala Ave. and goes through a residential neighborhood of beach front homes for about 1.5 miles. Stay on this main road, no turns!
Go all the way to the stop sign at the end, there's only one! It's about 2 miles from Diamond Head. Drive straight through it and just over the canal on the right, you'll see the entrance to Waialae Beach Park.
Park and be ready to walk out to the beach at the "meet and start of coverage time" which is 15 minutes before the listed ceremony time on your contract.
We’ll be sitting on the picnic tables just off the parking lot watching for you. We'll greet you and walk up the beach about 200 yards where there are multiple spots available for your ceremony.
Note: If by taxi, Uber, or Lyft, pleas have them drop you off at the same spot we meet you. You also want to book your ride to ensure timely pick-up i.e. don't wait until the last minute and there is no ride available.
Note: If you take a taxi, you can always catch a cab back from the five-star rated Kahala Hotel which is just up the beach. It's also a great place to have lunch.
Note: If you are staying at the Kahala Hotel, let us know and we can meet you out at one of the sites instead of you having to meet us at Waialae Beach Park. Just walk off the hotel property heading west and you'll come to a sidewalk fronting a condominium (Jack Lord of Hawaii Five-O lived on the top floor lol). Follow the sidewalk to the coconut tree lawn areas fronting the beachside condominiums We'll see you.
IMPORTANT
- Map apps may route you to the H-1 freeway and/or may underestimate the travel time . Use our estimates and directions above.
- If you're unsure of the location and travel time, we suggest checking out the route and location prior to the wedding day p referably during the same hours scheduled,
- It's always better to be a little early. If you're late, we may have to shorten your coverage or not perform your ceremony at all and no money will be returned.
