About Photo Coverage

"The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low cost is forgotten".

Our photo coverage is perfect for those wanting something simple, professional, high quality, and affordable.

Our photographer "Charlie" will select the ceremony and portrait spots and set you in position to achieve the best possible views and lighting. Since his expertise determines the success of your photograpy, sites are at the discretion of the photographer.

We shoot in a storytelling progression throughout the ceremony and portrait session which creates a logical visual presentation of your event. This makes for effortless and relaxed posing and allows for a comfortable and deliberate flow for your imagery. Photo coverage begins at the start of the ceremony unless, conditions dictate otherwise.

We don't just shoot the photos and that's it. Unlike most websites, we don't processed "in-camera". Instead, we shoot "RAW" files for which requires each "RAW" be manually "processed" to our interpretation of the optimum color balance, contrast, exposure, and other parameters. You photographers know, it's time-consuming and work but, it gives you the best image under all lighting conditions.

Following this processing, we'll create and upload a personal "WebPhotoGallery" and email you a link with instructions on how to select your photos. These photos will have a watermark.

Note: Given all the steps, you can understand why we can't just get your photos to you the same day as you would with "in-camera" processing. It's normally 1-3 days. Once uploaded and the link email sent, your "WebPhotoGallery" will be available for (30) days to allow you to make selections.

When we receive your selections, we'll send you a "Final Service Invoice" which includes your credit card transaction fees and last minute photo orders or upgrades. Upon payment, you'll receive a email from our service "WeTransfer" to download your photos. It will be available on-line for (30) days. You may also share the download link with your family and friends. These final photos will not have a watermark.

Finally, we are not an archive service. We suggest immediately backing-up your files to other storage media, drives, cloud services, etc. We try to keep them for a while but, given technology, storage limits, and unintended accidents, we acn't "guaranty" anything past (30) days. If you do experience an "accident" check back with us to see if we still have your files.

Photo FAQ

What is a "Certified Professional Photographer"?

Our experienced and award-winning "Charlie" has earned "Certified Professional Photographer" status awarded by the Professional Photographers of America. Note: Unfortunately, websites use the term "certified" or "licensed" for their photographers so frequently that, it's now meaningless.

How can we tell what you show is what we'll get?

As you might imagine,  entire websites have been sold and re-sold to new owners over the years consequently, you never know if what you see is from the actual photographer shooting your photos. Charlie has been our photographer since the start and all of thephotos you on our website is from him Yes, you're gonna get what you see on our website!

Do we get prints?

No and excuse us for saying, any website that offers you prints is just waiting to charge you more. Simply, "prints" from a desktop computer printer have little to no value compared to receiving the actual JPEG photo files from which you can make your own prints.

What are Hi-Res JPEG photo files?

They are high resolution JPEG files produced after our custom "RAW" processing. These JPEG files will allow you to make your own high-quality photo prints from the smallest size and up 40x60 and larger possible.

How many photos do we get?

You can select what you want when you reserve us. This will be listed on your contract. You can also add more photos after the ceremony. Note: While it doesn't not happen always, prices are subject to change without notice.

We shoot more than enough to give a good variety and selection of images to choose from. For a normal small ceremony with just the couple it's usually is up to 100+ depending upon the location and any extras you may want.

Do we select our own photos?

Yes. You will do this using our WebPhotoGallery using a desktop, laptop computer, or iPad like device. Note:  A mobile phone might be kind of tough.

What is a WebPhotoGallery?

This is a personal website for viewing and selecting your photos. It will be uploaded within 1-3 days after the ceremony, most times by the next day. It shows all the photos except, those which we shot for exposure or other tests and/or photos where there is a better selection. We do remove blinks where we can and if there is a better similar shot. The gallery will be available for (30) days and can be remade and re-posted for an additional fee.

Each photo will have a copy-protection watermark unless, you pre-order ALL the photos and no watermark will be present.

How do we get our photos?

We are only liable to hold your photo files for (30) days after we send out your WebPhotoGallery to make your selections. With that said, we've been holding photo files a couple of years as space permits.

Can we get our photos on a USB stick or DVD disk?

Our service prices are specifically for the download of photo files and we've transferred files electronically to clients all over the world without a problem. If you struggle with computers, have a weak internet service, you may need to order a physical method. The media and postagewill be additional.

Can our family and guests take photos and video?

We allow guests to take photos and video during the ceremony under the direction of the minister and/or photographer. We have to maintain control to insure that we can perform our duties. We do not allow photography when directed proprietary work is being performed including the license signing, cake, toast, portrait sessions, or any scene our photographer is directing.

FYI: Any non-ODWS professional or a person acting as such, will not be allowed to photograph at the ceremony site until, all of our services are completed unless, you have a "minister-only" package.

Can we get different style of photography than on your website?

Not really. The style you see is what Charlie does. It's predictable, repeatable, and we do it every time no matter the weather, location, time, or lighting conditions. That's what a "professional" does, get's the job done!

Can we requests shots?

We require a specific photo coverage to fulfill our contract and all photos taken are at the sole discretion of the photographer but, yes.

Can the ceremony or photos be at another spot?

Ceremony and photo spots are selected specifically to allow us to perform the most successful event given the weather, location, and time. We avoid areas with a history of being unsafe or problematic.

If we have a ceremony close to sunset, will we get sunset photos?

Yes, as long as it's within the hour of coverage we provide. If you're thiking of sunset, let us know so, we can schedule your ceremony time appropriately. Note: We cannot shoot into the sun and use the sunset as a background for ceremonies, it's just too bright.

How do you work?

A normal "couple" photo coverage can be done within 20 minutes following the ceremony but, we provide up to an hour of coverage from the start of the ceremony.

We work smartly and efficiently, making our sessions fun and enjoyable. We kind of do it like a fashion photo shoot. About a half hour for everything. Photos are shot in a logical progression which enables us to get a greater variety of shots and a nice looking PhotoGallery.

Do you "fix" and/or "edit" photos?

We shoot RAW files and process each individual photo to our interpretation of the optimum color balance, contrast, and exposure. We try to remove small distractions, helicopters, planes, birds, and people in the background, if we can.

With that said, we do not "fix" or Photoshop photos to get rid of wrinkles, messy hair, blinks, swap heads, remove bandages or tatoo's, make people thinner, or remove large distractions or people from the backgrounds.  That takes a tremendous amount of time not provided for in our prices.

Note: None of those photos on our website have been fixed or "Photoshopped" other than using our normal processing explained above.

Copyright
